A few weeks ago, we enjoyed a warm February summer afternoon at the spectacular point of Cape Saint Francis (1h 35 min car drive from the guesthouse). It’s a small slice of heaven in this part of the world, with perfect point break waves, long stretches of soft sand beaches, and a top award-winning restaurant in the region called “Nevermind“.
This restaurant provides a gastronomic experience to delight any food lover’s palate. Spear-headed by the multi-talented chef “Wez” who personally hunts the red meat before serving it to you on a plate. “Nevermind” features a weekly rotating menu, highlighting seasonal ingredients and fresh catches from the local bay. The restaurant guarantees an unforgettable culinary journey that will leave you dreaming about your next visit.
We also visited the outstanding “Sealpoint lighthouse” during our afternoon in Cape Saint Francis. This lighthouse was constructed in 1878 for R23 688 and is one of the only masonry lighthouses in South Africa. It is an architectural masterpiece, featuring a curved antique solid wood cabinet and beautiful round viewing windows.
The admission and tour cost is R60 per person (February 2024). To reach the top, you need to climb a steep staircase, but the view of the entire bay from the top is spectacular and well worth the climb. Find out more from the links below.
